LG has just announced that the LG G3 will be getting the Android 5.0 update as soon as this week. This comes as the update was said to be delayed for Google’s range of Nexus devices, so it’s certainly come as a surprise to us all. If the company is able to keep its word, it will be the first company to rollout the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to one of its devices.
The Korean manufacturer has specified that handsets in Poland will get the update first with other regions reportedly getting the update in the “near future”. This could mean any time from the coming weeks to months as the company has refused to provide an official time frame for the update rollout outside of Poland. We’re guessing the unlocked models will be the first to receive the update with carrier variants possibly taking longer to send out the update.
The company has mentioned that it will announce an update rollout schedule for its other devices in the coming days. It’s good to see that the company is not just focused on its flagship smartphone.
