Older Android Wear devices like the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live were very capable devices, but they lacked one serious feature – ambient light sensor. This essentially means that the display of the device cannot adjust brightness based on the surroundings, which can be quite painful if you’re migrating between outdoors and indoor locations frequently. But a new app called Display Brightness for Wear vows to solve this particular issue thanks to time and location based data gathered on the device.
The app will automatically increase the brightness as the day progresses and dims itself as the sun sets. The developer says that the app “uses the coarse location to calculate sunrise and sunset times, as well as the Google Play Services activity detection API to automatically set the display brightness.”
If you own an Android Wear wearable which lacks the ambient light sensor, make sure you download the app from the Play Store link provided below.
