ASUS will officially bring the ZenWatch wearable in the U.S. on November 9 with a price tag of $199.99. This makes it the cheapest new smartwatch to break cover in the market recently with the likes of the LG G Watch R and the Moto 360 costing $300 and $250 respectively. Customers can get the ZenWatch directly from Best Buy this Sunday with other retailers including the Google Play Store expected to carry the wearable subsequently.
Hardware wise, the ZenWatch is pretty much on par with the other Android Wear smartwatches, but it’s the design where it stands out. Although it’s not fully circular like the Moto 360 or the LG G Watch R, it has an old school look to it which might appeal to a large section of the market. It comes in a leather strap, so it’s not all that different from the competitors.
The ASUS ZenWatch is sporting a 1.63 inch display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. Other specs include a Snapdragon 400 chipset, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and the latest iteration of Android Wear.
