Verizon has formally announced the Android 5.0 update rollout for the 2014 Moto X, starting late Monday. The latest version of Android hasn’t taken long to hit the Motorola flagship as Google only recently began the rollout of the update for its Nexus devices. This is thanks to the relatively stock version of Android running on the Moto X, which means the updates can be rolled out in quick time.
Customers can expect to see changes similar to the Android 5.0 ROM running on the Nexus 6 after this new update. Users will be able to prioritize notifications and keep them quite for a predetermined period of time and control Ambient Display functions as well. Moto X users are not new to Ambient Display (also known as Moto Display) which provides notifications without having to turn on the display manually.
Users will find other Android 5.0 related changes on board including a flurry of Material Design elements across the user interface and a completely reworked notifications tray. The update should have finished rolling out by now, so make sure you share your feedback with us below.
