Virgin Mobile, the prepaid Sprint subsidiary, is also joining in on the price cuts their major competitors have done. They even have a really cheap under $30 plan now.
First, their $35 plan has been refreshed with now offering either unlimited talk and text with 250 MB of 3G/4G data per month or 300 calling minutes, unlimited texting, and 2.5 GB of high speed data.
The $45 plan has also been refreshed with offering unlimited talk and text with 1 GB of high speed data. It also has 100 international calling minutes per month and free unlimited international texts.
Their $55 plan has also been refreshed with now offering unlimited talk and text and 3 GB of high speed data. Like the $45 plan, it also offers 100 international calling minutes and unlimited international text messages.
But if you never use data, this may be the best plan. For just $20 per month, you can get 300 minutes of call time and unlimited texting. If you want to use data, you need to access wifi.
But if you do a lot of international calling, Virgin Mobile is offering addons to these plans. For $5 more per month, you get Virgin Mobile International, which gives you unlimited calling minutes to Mexico and Canada (excluding Canada’s northernmost terriroties).
If you need to call somewhere often that isn’t Mexico or Canada, you can get a $10 per month addon, which gives you unlimited international text messages and 1,000 calling minutes to Mexico. With that addon, you also get free unlimited calling to 70 other countries and discounted rates to over 200 others.
If you live in an area with Sprint service and either use not a lot of data or need unlimited calling and messaging on the cheap, you should definitely consider Virgin Mobile as a carrier. It’s prepaid, so you will have to buy your phone either at or near full price, depending on the model or manufacturer.
