It was barely a secret that Verizon plans to launch the Sony Xperia Z3 on its retail shelves. Today, the Japanese manufacturer has officially confirmed its intentions to bring the smartphone to Verizon Wireless under the Xperia Z3v moniker. The smartphone will be exclusive to the carrier in the region. Customers will be able to buy the newest Sony flagship from Verizon outlets starting October 23. Pricing has been set at $199.99 with a two year contract, which is fairly decent for a flagship offering.
Verizon is also offering a $200 discount for a limited period if you get the Xperia Z2 Tablet along with the handset. The carrier has also announced that it will bring the Sony SmartWatch 3 to the markets sometime later this year with no word on the pricing as of yet.
For those unaware, the Sony Xperia Z3v will be sporting a 5.2 inch 1080p display, a 20.7-megapixel G Lens camera, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 4G LTE, a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 SoC, Android 4.4.4 KitKat and a 3,100 mAh battery. The smartphone is IP68 certified for immunity against water and dust. Sony has included front facing stereo speakers with the Xperia Z3/Z3v, making it a versatile competitor in the flagship segment.
