A new report suggests that Verizon will have temporary exclusivity on the Moto S smartphone after it is launched in the coming weeks. For those unaware, the Moto S is the company’s own version of the Nexus 6 but with some added Motorola features. The smartphone has already been spotted in leaks before, so its existence is not really a surprise. There’s no word on whether the Moto S will be brought to world markets, but since Motorola’s ambitions stretch far beyond the U.S. now, we’re guessing it won’t be limited to just one region.
Post the exclusivity period, AT&T is expected to bring the smartphone to the market through its retail channels. It is possible that the handset will be sold alongside the new Moto X via Moto Maker, allowing users to customize the colors and accents of the handset. Don’t rule out the availability of special wood and leather variants either.
This leak from TK Tech News also mentions that Google will launch the Nexus smartphone in 5.2 and 5.9 inch configurations, contrary to reports which suggested that there will only be one large sized Nexus handset. So it seems like Android lovers are in for a bit of a treat this Fall.
