The Sony SmartWatch 3 is now up on pre-order via Verizon Wireless. This Android Wear offering will be up for grabs later this month, but customers can reserve a unit starting today. The SmartWatch 3 will also be available through Google Play in the weeks to come. Pricing details haven’t been provided by Sony at the moment, but it should cost somewhere close to $250 considering what we’ve seen from the recent set of Android Wear smartwatches.
Since the Xperia Z3v is now available through Verizon, the carrier can offer the smartwatch together as a bundle. The SmartWatch 3 comes with built-in GPS support which will let users carry the smartwatch independently of the source device. Like every Sony device that we know of, the SmartWatch 3 is water resistant with an IP68 certification. Sony joined the likes of LG, Samsung, Motorola and ASUS in launching an Android Wear smartwatch last month.
