The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 smartphone is launching via AT&T later this week, according to a statement issued by the carrier. The smartphone will be made available for $474.99 off contract or $149.99 if you’re looking to sign a 2-year agreement. The Galaxy Mega 2 can also be had under the Next 18 plan for $19.80 a month while the Next 12 plan will set you back by $23.75 a month. It’s clearly not the cheapest smartphone available out there and the specs sheet isn’t all that convincing either.
The Galaxy Mega 2 is revealed to be packing a 6 inch 720p display, a 1.5 GHz quad core processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, a 2.1-megapixel front camera, Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest iteration of TouchWiz UI and a 2,800 mAh battery.
Clearly, the Galaxy Mega 2 isn’t a monster as far as the hardware is concerned. But if you’re looking for a decent phablet with support for the carrier’s blazing fast LTE networks, make sure you give the Galaxy Mega 2 a closer look when it breaks cover this Friday.
