Samsung has just announced its very own extended warranty plan for its flagship smartphones and phablets, calling it the Samsung Protection Plus Mobile Elite. This warranty plan includes a one time fee and will replace cracked screens or devices with water damages for a maximum of three times during the warranty period. This plan essentially increases the warranty period from one year to two, giving users double the coverage at a nominal cost.
Currently, it is applicable to the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5 as well as the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 4 phablets. The plan for the smartphones costs $99 while Galaxy Note 3/Galaxy Note 4 owners will have to shell out $129 for the extended warranty. Under this warranty period, devices can be replaced completely with an extra $75 and $95 fee for the Galaxy S4/Galaxy S5 and the two Note phablets respectively. So rather than paying a hefty sum to get an all new smartphone, Samsung is offering you a new device for a fraction of the cost.
