The Verizon branded Motorola Droid Turbo went official yesterday. And unsurprisingly, it is the best handset in the market right now, thanks to its proportionate size coupled by the powerful internals. It is now being said that Motorola could be looking to bring the handset to global shores as well, indicating that it won’t be an exclusive to the U.S.
Motorola is already sending invites for a November 5 event in Brazil, with what appears to be a Droid Turbo shown on the teaser. However, it is being said that the smartphone will be known as the Moto Maxx with the company filing a trademark for that name recently.
This approach from Motorola is logical considering the success it has seen overseas. The Moto G has been very popular in developing markets, so there’s no reason why something like the Droid Turbo won’t succeed. On paper, it is the most powerful Android smartphone available today, so it could create plenty of noise in the flagship segment.
Motorola is also expected to launch an AT&T model of the Droid Turbo sometime soon, with the device clearing the FCC not too long ago. So going by this, it seems like the Verizon exclusivity of the Droid Turbo will be short lived.
