Chinese certification database, TENAA has revealed the existence of the Desire 816h which appears to be a slightly modified variant of the Desire 816 which was launched earlier this year. The smartphone is shown to be packing identical specs sheet as the standard model but with a 1.7 GHz octa-core CPU instead of the quad core Snapdragon 400 SoC.
The smartphone is also revealed to be packing an 8-megapixel camera on the back, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot and support for a wide range of network frequencies including WCDMA and standard GSM, which means it could be a dual-SIM model which is quite common in China.
As the device has only popped up on a certification database, we have no information on how much it costs or when it will break cover. But don’t be surprised if the smartphone remains an exclusive to the Chinese markets.
