It’s common knowledge in the Android sphere that Google’s upcoming Nexus 9 tablet made by HTC will break cover sometime this month. And now, a new leak coming through @upleaks on Twitter has shed light on what to expect as far as the design is concerned. Unfortunately, we’re only given a look of the back here. At first glance, it appears to be a larger version of the Nexus 7 with the same Nexus logo on the back but also with an HTC logo on the bottom.
It’s too early to comment on the authenticity of the leak, but it looks like the product of Google’s design team. Interestingly, the camera on the back is shown to be packing an LED flash here, which is a first for Google’s Nexus tablets. Since the Nexus 9 is made by HTC, it was widely believed that there will be some form of metal in the tablet’s outer body, however that might not be the case with the Nexus 9. While the images don’t distinctly reveal the build quality of the tablet, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if Google retains the same matte finish polycarbonate exterior from the predecessor.
