Verizon’s HTC One M8 was supposed to be updated to Android 4.4.3 last month, but the rollout was delayed because of a GPS issue that HTC discovered later on. The company promised to release the update by mid-September, and it looks like it will be keeping that promise, as the 4.4.3 update is slated to roll out to Verizon’s HTC One M8 this Wednesday.
As HTC had said, the Android 4.4.3 update will be the last update for the HTC One M8 before Android L comes out (unless Google rolls out another serious update to KitKat before that). 4.4.3 will bring numerous bug and security fixes, and it will also introduce the Extreme Power Saving Mode feature to Verizon’s variant, a feature that has been available on other carrier variants since April. Also, the update includes improvements to BoomSound, Quick Settings, and the Motion Launcher gestures, along with optimization for the Camera, Gallery and Settings apps.
