The unlocked model of last year’s Moto X handset was sold only via T-Mobile in the U.S. And strangely, this variant has been made to wait quite a while to receive the latest version of Android while the likes of AT&T, Sprint and Verizon have already finished the rollout of the update.
But that changes today with the Android 4.4.4 update showing up on unlocked Moto X handsets, carrying the changes we saw on other carrier variants. Since the update is being sent out by Motorola and not the carrier, there might not be a lot of T-Mobile specific changes on board, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
The update is arriving as an OTA to customers of the handset and might make its way to all devices simultaneously. There’s no word on the specifics of the update, but it is believed to be nearly 150MB in size going by the Android 4.4.4 update we saw on other Moto X variants. Make sure you drop a line below and let us know if the update has hit your smartphone yet.
