Customers of the Sony Xperia Z, ZL, ZR or the Tablet Z can expect to see the Android 4.4.4 update hitting their smartphones in the coming days. The manufacturer gave out the info through its Twitter page, so the information is coming straight from the horse’s mouth. The update will not change the user interface drastically, but will introduce some changes to stock Android and bring along some updates to some of Sony’s features as well. It is said that the changelog includes fixes for battery, WiFi as well as email, so it’s not exactly a major update, but a welcome addition nonetheless.
Sony has been quite snappy as far as rolling out updates are concerned, and it’s no different this time around either. Android 4.4.4 is probably going to be the last version of KitKat before the big release of Android L (Lemon Meringue Pie?) later this year. So it’s good to know that Sony is keeping up with change.
Have you seen the update arrive on either of the aforementioned devices? Let us know.
