Back when the Samsung Galaxy Note was originally shown off, rival manufacturers and large sections of the media wrote it off as a device which was too big for the customers. And one of the Samsung’s key industry rivals, Apple, was also one among the critics. However, with Apple launching the iPhone 6 Plus last week, the company’s hypocrisy has come out in the open. And Samsung has sensed this golden opportunity to take a jibe at the Cupertino manufacturer with a new commercial.
The commercial talks about how the Galaxy Note was frowned upon initially, but grew into a game changing device over time. The ad even quotes media reports from 2011 which were quite critical of the phablet. The commercial was aired on television this Sunday afternoon, so it’s received significant attention already. It goes without saying that the Galaxy Note was instrumental in the birth of the phablet segment, so it’s not a surprise that they’re looking to take some credit for it.
