Samsung claims the unusual gap on the Galaxy Note 4 is a necessary “manufacturing feature”

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Gap

Yesterday, a report from South Korea spoke about how the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 had an unusual gap between the display and the casing. And according to the user manual of the smartphone published by Samsung, this is a necessary design element. It even goes onto to say that the gap can expand over time.

Below is what’s mentioned in the device user manual:

  • This gap is a necessary manufacturing feature and some minor rocking or vibration of parts may occur.
  • Over time, friction between parts may cause this gap to expand slightly.

Judging by this new revelation, it is possible that the gaps will be found on all variants of the Galaxy Note 4 regardless of the region. But we hope they are not too big for dust particles to gather and cause trouble for the users after prolonged usage. We’re not sure this can be called a setback for the Galaxy Note 4, but the fact the company is acknowledging this rather than keeping it in the dark is indeed a good sign.
