If you thought last morning’s Galaxy Note 4 announcement was all Samsung had to offer from IFA, you were wrong. The Korean manufacturer has just unveiled its new series of Android powered printers belonging to the new MultiXpress series. The printers feature a large 10 inch display for easy navigation and printing documents on the fly. The tablets are based on Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz user interface, so owners of Galaxy smartphones will find this familiar.
MultiXpress printers can be put to good use in an office atmosphere where printing is done in large quantities. The current crop of printers come with bare bones software, so something with Android running on it is bound to be a better fit for enterprise users. The printer interacts with the tablet using NFC. The device also comes with a 1 GHz dual core CPU inside.
Users can print documents or pages from a variety of core apps from the device such as the web browser or email clients and even edit them with necessary details. This is easily the highlight feature of a printer like this thanks to the versatility provided by Android. We’re yet to gather details on the pricing of the printer, but Samsung should have the details up on its website relatively soon.
