While other smart watches have come to market since its campaign, the Pebble is arguably the first to get mass adoption. And it’s the only watch that works cross-platform.
And while Pebble doesn’t have any new hardware yet (that we know of), they are updating the software with a lot of improvements with version 2.5 today.
The first improvement is that emojis can now be viewed on the Pebble’s screen, fixing the issue of the square boxes being there instead.
There is also a new Compass app that can be downloaded from the Pebble App Store, taking advantage of the magnetometer inside the device. And with the SDK, developers can use that chip as well.
For iOS 8 users, they also get the ability to clear notifications from Notification Center right from the Pebble. This is not available on Android and is an iOS exclusive feature.
There are also the usual bug fixes included with this update. If you have a Pebble, just head to the Support section in the app and tap “Update Your Pebble.” If you don’t have a Pebble, will you buy one of these or are you interested in something else?
