Boost Mobile’s version of the Moto G has been cleared to receive the Android 4.4.4 update starting today. The Sprint subsidiary has already begun the update rollout to devices and should finish by the end of the week. Among the noticeable changes include an all new dialer, the ability to pause midway through a video recording and the addition of the new Motorola Alert app. Apart from these changes and a few bug fixes, there won’t be any major changes to the system, so don’t expect a new UI or something along those lines.
Considering that the Moto G runs a relatively stock version of Android, it can be likened to the Nexus and GPE devices as far as functionality is concerned. But Motorola gives its devices a personal touch by adding applications such as Motorola Alert. Android 4.4.4 is the last version of KitKat before Android L arrives, so the update is quite significant.
Make sure you navigate through the Settings and pull the update manually if the notification hasn’t popped on your Boost Mobile branded Moto G yet.
