AT&T has just announced the arrival of the Moto 360 smartwatch on its shelves, although no specific date was provided. AT&T’s press release suggests that pricing will be announced at a later date, but we don’t think it will be any different from the standard $250 price tag Motorola is selling it for.
Verizon also announced intentions to launch the Moto 360 smartwatch, but took its listing down for some reason. It’s good to see carriers launching smartwatches and not leaving it just to the manufacturers to market them. This move from AT&T will help in moving more units of the Moto 360 and give prospective buyers an opportunity to experience its functioning first hand.
The Moto 360 is only one of the three Android Wear smartwatches available in the market today along with the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live. LG is expected to launch the G Watch R next month while ASUS will bring the ZenWatch to the market at around the same time, so the Android wearables segment is getting crowded pretty quickly.
Would you rather get the Moto 360 directly from Motorola or prefer to purchase it from a carrier instead?
