Earlier this month, HTC announced a photography oriented event for Oct. 8 suggesting the launch of a camera accessory. Subsequent reports mentioned that this would be a GoPro like waterproof camera targeted towards the adventurous. And a new leak has confirmed this by providing a couple of images of this accessory known as the HTC RECamera. The images were apparently pulled from the RECamera microsite, which has been taken down now.
While these images give us a brief idea of the shape and design of this camera accessory, there is very little information on the specifications of the device or even the expected price range. But it goes without saying that the RECamera will be a sturdy and durable accessory as one of images clearly indicates. It will be interesting to see how the device operates as there’s no visible viewfinder here. Perhaps HTC will launch a companion app for smartphones which would act as a virtual viewfinder for the camera.
We should have more details on the RECamera by October 8.
