Right after Samsung announced the Galaxy Alpha handset, it was made clear that the device was part of a series with many such devices to come in the future. We’re now coming across the specs sheet of one of these new Galaxy Alpha smartphones, known as the Samsung SM-A300. And much like the Galaxy Alpha, the smartphone is shown to be packing a midrange hardware. The design principles of the smartphone is expected to be unchanged as well.
GFXBench reveals that the smartphone is packing a 4.8 inch 960 x 540 resolution display, a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 SoC with the Adreno 306 GPU, 8GB of internal storage (5GB user accessible), 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, a 5-megapixel portrait camera as well as Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
The A300 will reportedly be announced with the A500 and the A700 sometime later this year, so we can expect to see some more metal clad smartphones from Samsung before the end of the year. Samsung is targeting the midrange segment with its Galaxy Alpha smartphone, but it’s only a matter of time before the design rubs off on its flagship offerings as well.
