AT&T’s version of the LG G Flex smartphone is getting an update today carrying some minor tweaks and bug fixes. Most importantly, the update improves compatibility with the G Watch. This is interesting as the update is coming directly from the carrier and not LG, which in turn means that the Android version remains unchanged. AT&T mentions the presence of some core Android security patches, so it certainly doesn’t come across as a major update. It also brings some changes to LG’s music player app on the G Flex.
There’s very little to know in terms of the update file size, but we don’t expect it to be too large considering there aren’t a lot of changes on board. The Android version remains on 4.4.2 with no word on the Android 4.4.3-4.4.4 update yet. It is possible that the device will directly receive Android L, considering that it’s the next major update for all Android OEMs. As usual, the update is rolling out in stages and should cover the entirety of the G Flex users by the end of the week.
Make sure you drop a comment below if you’re seeing the update on your smartphone.
