The Alcatel Fierce 2 and Evolve 2 will make its way to T-Mobile shelves starting today according to an announcement made by the carrier. As you probably figured out by the image above, the two smartphones fall under the midrange category and don’t scream of a high end hardware, but will certainly go light on your wallets. The smartphone can also be purchased through T-Mobile’s subsidiary MetroPCS.
The Fierce 2 is sporting a 5 inch 960 x 540 resolution display, a 1.2 GHz quad core SoC, 4GB of internal storage (expandable), 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera on the back and Android 4.4 KitKat. The smartphone has been priced at $166 or in 24 monthly installments of $5.25, which is a decent bargain for a midrange device.
The Evolve 2 however packs a slightly underwhelming hardware specs sheet with its 4 inch display 480 x 800 display, 512MB RAM and the 1.3 GHz dual core processor. The handset also has a 5-megapixel rear camera, 4GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot and Android 4.4 KitKat. Pricing for the Evolve 2 has been set at $120 or $3.30 per month for a period of two years.
So even though the smartphones aren’t exactly powerful, Alcatel has ensured that the software is the latest and the greatest from Google. The device has a subtle UI layering on top of Android, so don’t expect a fully stock experience with either handsets.
