ZTE has just unveiled its latest midrange offering known as the Nubia 5S Mini with an affordable price tag of $279.99 for the unlocked model. The smartphone will be compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile network frequencies in the U.S. should you choose to get one. It comes with LTE support right out of the box, which is quite decent for a midrange device.
Packing inside the Nubia 5S Mini is a 4.7 inch 720p display, a 13-megapixel camera with a 5-megapixel sensor on the front, a quad core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 SoC, 16GB of internal storage, a 2,000 mAh battery and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. There’s no word on whether the handset will receive Android 4.4 during its lifespan, but we’re not holding our breath.
With a pricing of nearly $280, the smartphone is certainly not the cheapest budget device we’ve seen, but considering that ZTE has made quite a name for itself with budget and midrange devices, the Nubia 5S Mini could be quite popular if marketed accordingly. The smartphone will be available for pre-order via Amazon later today. The smartphone will officially start shipping to customers on the 27th of August.
