At last year’s IFA 2014 event, Sony unveiled the Xperia Z1 smartphone along with a bunch of new accessories known as lens cameras. And it seems like the same trend will continue this year as the company’s press invite for the upcoming pre-IFA event suggests. Interestingly, the company is yet to send these invites officially, so this can be deemed a leak at this point.
The teaser image shows a couple of lens camera units along with what appears to be the back of the upcoming Xperia Z3 smartphone. It’s hard to tell it apart from the Xperia Z1 or even the Z2 for that matter as the design has remained relatively unchanged over the past two iterations. But it is quite evident that the smartphone is set to break cover in less than a month from now in Berlin.
Sony’s lens cameras have not made a big impact on the market mainly due to limited availability, but the company will hope to rectify that with the upcoming models.
Not surprisingly, Samsung is also holding its Galaxy Note 4 press release on the same day, so it seems like Sep. 3 could be a very busy day for the media. Expect Sony to start sending out these invites over the coming days.
