With the IFA 2014 event scheduled to commence next week, we’re already given a brief idea of what to expect thanks to leaks and rumors. Sony has now gone a step further and accidentally revealed the devices that are expected to be revealed during its September 4 event, including the successor to the Smartwatch 2.
Earlier last week, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact was revealed by a user guide from another Sony device. This new image leak gives us our first look of the tablet as well. As expected, it’s a mini variant of the large sized Xperia Tablet that we’ve seen over the past year or so. The hardware will most probably be based off the Xperia Z3, so expect no surprises on board apart from the reduction in screen size.
The Smartwatch 3 has been said to be in the making for quite some time now and will be the company’s third wearable device. Surprisingly, the device will be running Sony’s custom version of Android and not Android Wear. It is said that Sony is quite confident with its own homegrown solution rather than relying on Google’s latest smartwatch OS.
Sony never fails to surprise anyone given that they’re well in line with the current trend and know exactly what the customers want. However, reports have suggested that the Xperia Z3 flagship could be an almost carbon copy of the Xperia Z2 with a slightly overclocked CPU and nothing much different.
We’ll wait till next week for more details on the Xperia Z3 and a variety of other offerings that the Japanese manufacturer is expected to show off.
