Yesterday, we spoke about the possibility of the Sharp Aquos Crystal launching through Sprint. The carrier has officially confirmed this today by announcing the device for $239.99 off contract. The carrier will also offer the smartphone for $10 per month for a period of 2-years under its zero down payment plans.
Sprint’s subsidiaries such as Boost and Virgin Mobile will also carry the smartphone eventually but for $149.99. Going by the pricing, it’s clear that the device is a midrange offering in terms of specs, although it’s no ordinary smartphone as far as the design is concerned.
Featuring a unique bezel-less design, the Aquos Crystal has beveled edges on its display, giving it that distinct look. The smartphone is packing a 5 inch 720p display, a quad core 1.2 GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, a 2,040 mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Color options at the time of launch include white as well as black. The smartphone also comes with Harman Kardon audio enhancements for that added boost to the speakers.
Sprint’s website states that the device is coming soon, with no specific date provided.
