Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 to pack a 6 inch display and 64-bit processor

Samsung Galaxy Mega 2

Samsung launched two models of the Galaxy Mega last year to much success in developing markets. We haven’t seen a successor as of yet, but according to a new leak, it might not be far away. Known as the Galaxy Mega 2, Samsung is reportedly going to launch just the one model this time around. Almost striking a balance between the 5.8 inch and 6.3 versions of the Galaxy Mega from last year, the Galaxy Mega 2 will reportedly pack a 6 inch display sporting a 720p resolution.

The smartphone is also expected to pack a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, a 13-megapixel camera, 8GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat. Although it will contain a 64-bit processor, the device is still going to be a midrange offering if the rest of the specs sheet is anything to go by. This is no surprise considering that the predecessor was also categorized as a midranged handset.

The device has reportedly received approval in China through local carrier China Mobile. Needless to say, the device should inevitably make its way to Europe and even the American markets subsequently. We can expect Samsung to unveil the smartphone at next month’s IFA event.
