If a new rumor is to be believed, the Moto G2 could break cover on the 10th of September. The handset will reportedly have a slightly higher price tag this time around, accompanied by an upgraded 5 inch display and some other crucial changes to the hardware. The report says that the smartphone will begin shipping to retailers on the 10th of September or even by the end of August, so actual launch may vary depending on your location.
The Moto G2 will reportedly cost €250 or $335, which is slightly more than what we expect from a midrange handset. But we’re sure this could change after launch as Motorola has to compete with some midrange heavyweights this time around. The competition is clearly lot more this year and pricing always plays a crucial role in the success or failure of a midrange offering.
Reports in the past have suggested that the Moto G2 will pack a 5 inch HD display, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, 1GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 400 quad core SoC and an almost stock version of Android 4.4 KitKat much like the predecessor. We’re taking these rumors with a grain of salt for the time being and hope to learn more as the weeks progress.
