In the midst of all the flagships that are preparing to break cover over the next week, midrange devices are not given much love. But Verizon has managed to grab our attention by announcing a rare midrange offering from Motorola known as the Luge. The smartphone is essentially a re-branded version of the Droid Razr M from 2012, but for prepaid customers of Verizon. The price tag is quite decent at $199.99 without no contractual obligations, so Verizon is clearly going to attract a lot of attention from this new offering.
The Motorola Luge packs a 4.3 inch 960 x 540 resolution Super AMOLED display, a 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 Plus chipset, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, Android 4.4.2 KitKat and a 2,000 mAh battery. Although the Droid Razr M is nearly two years old, Motorola has ensured that the latest version of Android is running on board so that performance is not compromised. For $199.99 sans contract, the Motorola Luge is certainly a decent choice.
