We could be in for quite a treat at next month’s IFA 2014 event if the current schedule of events is anything to go by. Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Note 4, while Sony is all set to announce the Xperia Z3. However, it seems like another big ticket manufacturer could have something for us during the event. A teaser posted by Huawei, hints at a large 6 inch 2K display smartphone breaking cover at next month’s event, which means that the Galaxy Note 4 won’t be the only 2K display phablet on show in Berlin.
Although the teaser only shows a device aligned in the shape of the number ‘7’, Chinese sources mention that this has nothing to do with the size, but more with the name of the smartphone. The sources further mention that the device is expected to pack a 6 inch 2K resolution display as well as an octa core processor.
These rumors sound legitimate given that Chinese manufacturers are never too far behind with latest technology, so we might hear a thing or two about this mystery Huawei phablet in the coming weeks. However, we’re taking it with a pinch of salt for now as we do with all rumors. Huawei’s press event is scheduled to take place on the 4th of September in Berlin, just a day after Samsung announces the Galaxy Note 4.
