The Xiaomi Mi4 will apparently be announced on the 22nd of July according to the company president, Lei Jun. He took to social networking site Weibo to announce the news and also gave us a teaser showing a metal surface with the number 4 etched on it, giving us a hint of what’s to come.
Metal clad devices are currently in trend and manufacturers are starting to realize that polycarbonate smartphones won’t cut it in this day and age, although Samsung would beg to differ. There’s no word on what the Mi4 will feature, but it seems like we can expect a pretty capable specs sheet considering the company’s history.
Rumors have indicated that the smartphone will feature a 5.2 inch 1080p display, a quad core Snapdragon 801, chipset, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel camera and Android 4.4 KitKat. Xiaomi has massive global ambitions, so the smartphone’s announcement will be closely monitored by the international audience as well.
