Xiaomi is expected to launch its next big flagship tomorrow at a dedicated event in China. But before the smartphone is announced, GFX Bench has managed to snatch a device known as the Xiaomi Mi3S with word on the specs sheet as well.
As the name indicates, the Mi3S is a marginally upgraded variant of the widely popular Mi3 handset which broke cover last year. This could be launched alongside the Mi4 as a cheaper alternative for last year’s flagship.
GFX Bench reveals that the handset is packing a 5 inch 1080p display, a quad core Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 12-megapixel camera on the back as well as a 7-megapixel front camera. Android 4.4.3 is expected to be running by default, but an update to Android 4.4.4 should be eventually rolled out to the smartphone.
Xiaomi has a reputation for launching well equipped smartphones with a budget price tag. And we expect no different from the Mi3S. It is likely that Xiaomi might only launch the Mi3S for the time being with the Mi4 launching later in the year, so don’t get your hopes up for the Mi4 just yet.
