The Verizon branded Moto X has just started receiving the Android 4.4.4 update today, almost a month after Google originally began the rollout. But considering the carrier’s history with updates, that’s not the longest the customers have been made to wait. Verizon started seeding the update to soak test invitees a few days ago, so this was along expected lines.
As seen with other stock Android devices, the update will bring along the same changes. The changelog mentions that there will be a new graphical layout on the dialer app, which is a feature introduced with Android 4.4.3. Motorola and Verizon also promise better image capture in fluorescent lighting, so there’s more than the customary bug fixes on board the new update.
The update should have started rolling out immediately, so you’ll probably see it in a few hours if you haven’t received a notification yet. As is the case with updates of this nature, you can also try pulling it manually through the settings.
