Sprint is now rolling out the Android 4.4.3 update for its variant of the HTC One M8. It’s odd that the carrier is rolling out the update given that Android 4.4.4 is the latest version of Android which was only recently rolled out to Nexus and GPE devices.
Google quickly realized that Android 4.4.3 left an OpenSSL based vulnerability open, which led to Android 4.4.4 almost immediately following suit. Hopefully, Sprint and HTC will work on a fresh update making users less vulnerable to any bugs.
Sprint is also touting the arrival of WiFi calling with this update, so there will be some key differences from Android 4.4.2. It also brings the usual suite of bug fixes and minor performance tweaks, which is always expected from an update of this nature. There’s also going to be an all new dialer, but it’s unlikely that users will notice it since HTC has its own dialer for its smartphones.
The update should start hitting your devices anytime soon, but make sure you navigate to the settings and check manually if you haven’t received it yet.
