The Sony Xperia Z3 is expected to be shown off in September during the IFA event. The handset is also believed to be accompanied by a ‘mini’ variant of itself known as the Xperia Z3 Compact. A new leak is now showing this handset from multiple angles, giving us a brief look at what’s to come. It’s hard to decipher anything from this leak, but it’s quite evident that the Xperia Z3 Compact is indeed real.
The smartphone is expected to pack a 4.6 inch 1080p display, a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 SoC, a 20.7-megapixel Sony G Lens camera, 3GB of RAM, stereo speakers and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. If the specs sheet is real, the Xperia Z3 Compact could be the best mini smartphone to be available in the market, much like the Xperia Z1 Compact was earlier this year.
The device will effectively act as a successor to the Xperia Z1 Compact which broke cover earlier this year in January. The Japanese manufacturer was expected to launch a mini variant of the Xperia Z2, but that never came to fruition. So it makes sense for Sony to launch the Xperia Z3 Compact in September.
