The NVIDIA Shield Tablet has been mentioned on many occasions, with benchmark listings giving us an idea of its specs sheet as well. However, we never got to see what the tablet would look like. But that changes today, with what is believed to be a press image of the upcoming gaming oriented tablet from NVIDIA.
Titles from Valve make an appearance on the display, which is consistent with what we’ve seen on the current Shield console as well. The leak comes courtesy of reliable source Evleaks, which has a fairly decent track record of leaks.
Unfortunately, the leak doesn’t shed light on the launch date or exact hardware specifications of the tablet, but it’s clear that it’s launching sometime within the next couple of months, probably at the IFA event in September.
It is clear that the tablet will pack the recently announced Tegra K1 mobile SoC which is believed to be a GPU powerhouse. This would allow the device to render graphics like never before on an Android tablet, so there’s enough reason to be excited about the Shield Tablet.
