OnePlus has just teased the arrival of the long awaited wooden back panels for the OnePlus One starting July 22. The teaser posted on the company’s Twitter page says – “Knock On Wood” followed by the July 22 launch date, stating the obvious. Bear in mind, the manufacturer won’t actually sell wooden based OnePlus One units and this will merely be a replaceable back covers for the smartphone as originally promised during launch. So it’s not exactly like the wooden Moto X, which comes with wood based back panels by default.
The smartphone itself has been pretty hard to come by which means that there won’t be a lot of customers out there who can slap this case onto their OnePlus One. But the company is expected to make the smartphone available to all in the coming months, so maybe this will come in handy then.
During the OnePlus One announcement, the company also showed off a series of StyleSwap covers for the device which included the likes of Denim, Silk and of course, Wood. The company hasn’t mentioned a price tag for the wooden back panel yet, but we won’t have to wait long to know.
