Android L has been creating a lot of buzz lately, even though it’s far from being commercially released. Manufacturers have assured their customers that their smartphones will get the update as soon as the final source code is made available. And now, the OnePlus One has been confirmed to be getting the Android L update, but only after 90 days of the update’s release.
We’re not sure if they mean 90 days from now or from the date of Android L’s commercial release, but it’s good to have some sort of confirmation from OnePlus, especially considering all the negative press its smartphone has been getting due to delays in launch. HTC was bold enough to suggest something along the same lines, so we’re hoping to see uniformity in the update rollout later this year. Bear in mind that this could mean sometime during late 2014 or even 2015 as Android L isn’t expected to hit stock Android devices until later in the year.
We’re not sure if this will convince users to pick the OnePlus One over other competitive offerings, but it’s certainly going to help.
