The Sprint version of the LG G Flex smartphone has started receiving a new update which brings WiFi calling on board. Other additions to the update include bug fixes and a new HD Voice icon. The update changes the software version to ZV7 and brings forth some nifty bug fixes as well. Prominent among those is pertaining to SMS and overall security, which is listed as Google Patch in the changelog.
Users will not see any major differences as far as usability is concerned, but the aforementioned changes are plenty to interest owners of the device. WiFi calling allows customers to make calls using their WiFi network whenever available, thus saving on plenty on voice calling costs. Users will have to opt into the service by activating their home or preferred WiFi network over at Sprint’s site.
As is the case with updates of this nature, it’s being rolled out over the air and should arrive on all compatible handsets by now. But make sure you check the Settings periodically if you don’t see an update on your Sprint G Flex.
