We’ve been hearing reports about the Moto X+1 and some of its hardware features. But this new video leak might be our best look of the device yet, as it is caught posing next to the Nexus 5. This handset can be considered a phablet as it is visibly larger than any Motorola smartphone we’ve seen so far. The comparison next to the Nexus 5 tells us that it has a display bigger than 5 inches.
Motorola employees have reportedly confirmed that the device shown here is legitimate, although they haven’t clarified if this is the Moto X+1 or a newer device. Either way, it’s good to know that Motorola has a new phablet in the pipeline which tells us that they’re looking to focus on the high-end segment as well (assuming this is a flagship) and not just budget offerings like the Moto E and the Moto G.
The bottom and some part of the top bezel have been covered to protect the identity of the device, which is expected from a prototype unit. Not so surprisingly, the smartphone is shown running Android L, suggesting that the device will run stock Android much like Motorola devices that have launched over the past year or so.
