It has barely been a week since the LG G Watch was made available for the general public and the smartwatch has already received its first custom ROM. The dynamics of having a custom ROM on a smartwatch isn’t quite clear to us yet, but the creator believes that it provides better battery backup and increased vibration sensitivity among other things.
Since it’s still too early in the day, we assume the ROM is built over the stock Android Wear firmware and we cannot rule out future third party ROMs from supporting Android Wear. The LG G Watch has an unlocked bootbloader, which means it’s open to flash new ROMs. This will save a lot of time for the developer as they usually have to find a way to unlock the device first.
The ROM used here is Gohma and is seemingly functional. Hit the RootzWiki link below and try it out if you’re feeling adventurous. But bear in mind that this ROM probably won’t bring any visual differences compared to the stock Android Wear ROM.
