HTC has started rolling out an update to Android 4.4.4 to the Google Play editions of the HTC One M8 and the original HTC One, a couple of weeks after Google released the latest version of KitKat for Nexus devices. The update comes on the heels of a leaked roadmap that revealed HTC’s plans to update its devices to KitKat and Android L.
As expected, the update is pretty minor, with only security fixes being part of the changelog (4.4.4 fixes a Heartbleed-related bug, so it’s still important despite being minor.) Expect the update to show up on devices in the next few days, though you can also try to pull it immediately from the Settings » About phone » System updates menu.
