Verizon was the last carrier to update the Galaxy Note 3 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but it seems it won’t be doing the same for the Note 3’s predecessor. Verizon has started rolling out the KitKat update to the Galaxy Note II, bringing the device up to speed with everything that Android has to offer. The build number accompanying the update is KOT49H.I605VRUFND7, and it has started making its way to devices over the air and via Verizon’s Upgrade Assistant.
As expected, nothing has changed as far as the changelog is confirmed. There are the usual KitKat goodies included, such as faster performance, white status bar icons, and wireless printing support, along with Samsung-exclusive changes such as support for the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, KNOX 2.0, option to set custom tones for Samsung apps, and more. Like always, don’t fret if the update doesn’t immediately show up on your Galaxy Note II as it will roll out gradually, but you can do a manual check in the Settings » About phone » Software updates menu if you feel like taking matters into your own hands.
