Sony announced its flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z2 not too long ago. However, given the company’s plans to launch a new flagship every six months, we were expecting the device to get old pretty soon. And the day might not be far away as three new devices with the code name Aries, Leo and Pegasus have just surfaced. There’s not much info on what these smartphones will sport as far as hardware is concerned, but the Leo is reportedly going to be the Xperia Z3 while the Aries could be the Xperia Z3 Compact. There’s no word on what to expect from the Pegasus, but it could also be a variant of the Xperia Z3, possibly limited to Japan.
If last year was any indication, we can expect the Xperia Z3 to be announced at the IFA event in September this year. This is when the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to break cover as well, so Sony has to face some tough competition. But given that the Xperia Z3 will be in a different segment altogether as the Galaxy Note 4 is a phablet, the company won’t be too worried. We expect to learn more about these three Sony smartphones in the coming weeks.
