Owners of the Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch will now see an update to firmware version 220.127.116.11 which improves the S Health app on the device and brings a new feature called Blocking Mode. This basically puts the smartwatch on a do-not-disturb mode, which is crucial especially when you’re asleep. The watch can automatically detect when you’re asleep and turn on Blocking Mode as well, which is a nifty feature to have.
Luckily, the update is a measly 20MB so you will not need an unlimited connection to download the update. Users have to head over to the Gear Manager app on their compatible Samsung smartphone to update the smartwatch with this new firmware. In addition to bringing the aforementioned changes, the Gear 2 is also getting stability and performance upgrades as well. So overall, this is a much needed update for the Gear 2 and the users will be glad to know that Samsung is providing periodical updates like these.
