A leaked document coming from Samsung has revealed that the Galaxy S5 smartphone will receive the Android 4.4.3 update this month. Last year’s Galaxy S4 however will have to wait until July to get the update. The SM-G900F (Snapdragon 801) and SM-G900H (Exynos) models of the Galaxy S5 are being mentioned in the document.
This is excellent news considering that manufacturers usually take long to rollout even point updates like this one. So hopefully we’ll see a change in trend going forward. While Samsung will start rolling out the update immediately, the carriers might take their sweet time to send it out to devices, which has traditionally been the case.
The Galaxy S4 model mentioned here is the GT-I9506 which is the Korean variant of the smartphone. There’s no word on when the global versions of the Galaxy S4 will get this minor update, but it shouldn’t be far away considering that its Korean counterpart is set to get it in July.
Android 4.4.3 doesn’t bring a lot of changes to the table apart from a new dialer and some bug fixes to improve functionality, so device owners might not find this to be a big update.
